| Granite City High School Supports Local Hospital With Blood Drive Granite City High School recently partnered with Central Illinois Community Blood Center to support their local hospital. CICBC is the sole supplier of blood to 19 hospitals in central and southern Illinois including Gateway Regional Medical Center . Two hundred and five high school students, staff and faculty members took an hour of their time and stepped up to help their friends, families and neighbors that are in need. Blood is needed every day for patients in your community. The need is constant, not just when there is an emergency. In addition, the high school participates in the CICBC’s annual High School Challenge. The Memorial Foundation of Memorial Hospital in Belleville sponsors three $1000 scholarships that are awarded to local high schools that recruit the most blood donors to their blood drives. The winning high schools award a deserving, graduating senior the scholarship. Home |
