Discussion Board regular, mom-of-five, recently visited Florida during the latest launch of the Space Shuttle. She has forwarded the pictures below, to share with everyone. (Click to enlarge) Thanks mom-of-five! "On February 7, 2008 the space shuttle Atlantis blasted off toward the International Space Station to deliver European Columbus module and a new crew member to the station. This experience is one that only has a few more years to enjoy. I heard that they are starting a new program, or way to get to space. Although I couldn't find it on the web site they were stating on the radio the day of the launch that the new program was due to start in 2010. Although I was three miles away, which is the closest that you can legally get, it was still very exciting to see. I hope that you enjoy the pictures." |
