Come join us in Granite City for a series of Plein Air Painting sessions.
We will be celebrating the historic but blighted downtown before it
undergoes revitalization.

This is a rare opportunity to find beautiful and meaningful formal images
in the brick architecture and surrounding urban areas.
In the spirit of the Ashcan Realists, this authentic urban industrial
backdrop is home to views similar to those in a George Luks or George
Bellows painting, while some of the streets have architecture and light
reminiscent of an Edward Hopper master piece.

These outings will result in a juried exhibition of paintings in the main
rotunda at Granite City’s City Hall. This event is part of the community’s
efforts to expose artists to the benefits of living and working in Granite City.

Please join us in a pleasant and rewarding way to benefit a
community and the arts.
